1931 geboren in Nashua, USA; lebt in Middletown,Connecticut.
1954 Bachelor of Arts an der Brandeis University;
1960 Master of Fine Arts an der Yale University.
Seit 1970 Professor für Musik an der Wesleyan University in Middletown.

In den 50er Jahren Kompositionen für traditionelle Instrumente; ab den frühen 60er Jahren elektroakustische Musik; in seinen Installationen und Performances thematisiert er psychoakustische Grenzsituationen.
